What You’ll Do
At We The Collective, we’re fan-focused brand builders, digital marketers and experts in gaming, toys and entertainment. We partner with entertainment brands to help launch new products, expand to new audiences and create lasting generational fandom. We do this through always-on social content, effective launch campaigns, and compelling digital properties.
The Technical Project Manager on our Production team is responsible for overseeing complex web development projects from conception to successful execution, fostering cross-functional collaboration and innovation. This role requires a unique blend of technical acumen, strategic planning, and operational excellence.
Your expertise will be crucial in guiding the overall technical direction, oversight, and coordination for complex web development projects, ensuring they adhere to both technical specifications and client needs. Balancing technical proficiency with strategic insight, you will support project managers in delivering projects on time and within budget, playing a key role in establishing a cohesive vision among diverse stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Effectively communicate project technical requirements to both technical and non-technical team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear manner.
- Manage day-to-day logistics and operations of technical programs, adapting to challenges and ensuring timely delivery.
- Utilize bottom-up estimating and other techniques to set realistic timelines and manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
- Actively address and manage project risks, applying problem-solving skills to keep projects on track.
- Manage projects and resources using tools such as Teamwork, Jira, Notion, wikis, and spreadsheets.
- Build and maintain a master plan, tracking all project components, dependencies, and timelines.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging innovation, efficiency, and productivity.
- Recognize and celebrate team successes, managing compassionately to build trust and strong relationships.
Skills and proficiencies
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications in project management preferred.
- PMP, CSM, PMI-ACP or equivalent certification a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in technical project or technical program management, ideally in a technology or product-focused company.
- Experience planning projects with diverse web technologies including:
- React / SSR React / React Native
- AWS and associated technologies
- Infrastructure as code (Cloudformation, Terraform etc.)
- Git and associated CI/CD workflows
- API development
- Diverse backend technologies
